Quality Procedures and Technical Support
Kelly & O’Callaghan Limited are committed to the latest Information Technology. We maintain and update our computer hardware and software to support the most recent and efficient packages for general office functions as well as specific quantity surveying and construction applications. Software includes Buildsoft (specialist surveying software), Project Commander (specialist building program software), Excel XP, Word XP, Powerpoint, Voloview (for viewing and printing Architect’s drawings), etc.
All information regarding projects is stored both electronically and on hard copy. We have an effective filing system (a specified employee is dedicated to this process) to ensure no difficulty in locating information as needed. Rapid print colour printers and copiers for fast document production are also utilized, as well as a plotter for plotting plans as received from Architects and Engineers.
During the process of executing the work, there is constant contact with the Partners, Office Manager, and other Quantity Surveyors at the office, as well as other members of the professional team like the Architect, Engineer and Mechanical & Electrical Consultant. Our Local Area Network (LAN) with high speed broadband internet connection and email (dedicated outlook express with individual email addresses) for all units ensures that this process is quick and reliable.
Specialist electronic measuring equipment is available and utilized in the office, as is laser and manual measurement equipment for sites. We have high definition digital cameras used for picture taking to enable us to keep record on the progress of projects, and also to use in reports.
We monitor rates by obtaining quotations and also issue payment recommendations for work completed by these Contractors. We monitor all variations, carry out snagging, and compile the Final Account at the end of the project. If any disputes arise during this phase, we are more than willing to attend meetings and provide advice on clearing this up.
